it's not a sweet season for everyone at one time
people got their reasons and they're heavy ones, sometimes
the weather can be unkind, plus it
seems there's never any
sunshine... feeling out of step can leave you tongue-tied
sun blind, gazing up at monochromatic skies
wanna run hide, wanna come back inside, try to unwind
People having fun is not a fun sight when you're not one of em
But we can build a fort and uninvite em if they don't got love in em
Cookies in a hot oven, I'm making cocoa, you might want nog and rum
I just had a hot dog for lunch, i could make you another one
Get the puzzles out, put a record on, give my pets a gentle kneading
Do some reading, throw a log on the blaze or crank the central heating
Feeling better now, ugly sweater now, we can
let it out, be quiet or shout, only friends around
Come inside and stay, it'd be a crying shame
if the only thing to keep us warm was climate change

It's not always easy to stay warm. through drizzle and miserable rainstorms
As you wait for the bus that would take you to Bayshore
It's late! You're in the path of rush hour traffic getting splashed with slush
Haven't had lunch since your Cap'n Crunch, lord knows you never asked for much
That's enough, you're done with people - some ain't great and some are evil
Teeming streets of heaving masses, feeling watched but nobody sees you
I believe you, I can understand, hypothermic winter wonderland
I'm concerned with cold that creeps in, count your toes and fingers on your hand
We're not perfect, we all make mistakes, I've caused hurt at times I hate to say
I've dropped words that cut like razor blades. Watch for falling ice, balk and fade away
so I get it if you wanna disappear
But listen here, it's crystal clear . you'll fit together with the rest of us in here
It's not that we're so hot, but we help each other a lot
The party is pretty much WYSIWYG, but we fog up the windows at Fezziwig's
Yeah! We could hibernate like bears, or lie awake right here
